Definition Of Department :

It was one of the constituent departments to monitor the   survey and improvement of soils, and it was one of the four constituent monitors of the General Administration of soils in the sixties of the last century.

The General Department of soils includes four monitors:

  1. Monitoring agricultural research.

  2. Monitoring survey and soil improvement

  3. Microbiological control

  4. Monitor agricultural analyzes.

During this period, the Department of Monitoring Land Survey and Improvement was headed by Prof. Mohamed Shalaby and Prof. Hassan Qwais and Prof. Mohamed Hoola in Giza, represented by a research team at Sakha Research Station headed by Prof. Fawzy El-Tohamy Sharaf El-Din and Prof. Dr. Anwar al-Abasri until 1968, and the department’s work was limited to carrying out missions that roamed all the lands of the republic to find out the problems that threaten and weaken the productivity of these lands according to the desire of the people. and ways to treat it. And the General Administration of Land later turned into the Land and Water Research Institute in 1971 as an independent institute affiliated to the Agricultural Research Center along with other research institutes. Agricultural Research Center In 1971, the department included two units, the Land Service Unit and the Mechanization Unit.
