A field trial experiment was carried out in order to investigate the effect of foliar spray with H2O2, Lithovit "a nano-CaCO3-fertilizer" and the combination of both on growth, physiological and yield attributes of two wheat genotypes under salt-affected soil conditions at Agricultural Faculty Farm, Tanta University, Egypt during the winter season of 2013/2014. In both genotypes, maximum increase of root and shoot dry mass, relative growth rate, net assimilation rate, and the concentration of photosynthetic pigments and total soluble sugars were recorded by Lithovit with or without H2O2 treatments compared to control. While, maximum increase of mean leaf area per plant, leaf mass ratio, membrane stability index and proline concentration; as well as maximum decrease of lipid peroxidation and H2O2 accumulation were obtained from H2O2 with or without Lithovit treatments. In addition, all exogenous treatments markedly decreased the accumulation of Na+ and increased K+ and Ca2+ concentrations as well as K+/Na+ and Ca2+/Na+ ratios in wheat shoots. Furthermore the response of straw and grain yields to exogenous treatments, particularly Lithovit with or without H2O2 applications, was more prominent in salt-sensitive genotype than salt-tolerant. This study reports, for the first time, the synergistic effect of H2O2 with Lithovit in improving growth, physiological and yield attributes of wheat plants under salinity conditions.
