Objectives:

• Inventory of the land resources of the Arab Republic of Egypt and identify the promising areas for agricultural exploitation.

 • Determining the optimal use of the different types of lands and the suitability of different crops to them.

• Identification of degraded lands and ways to treat them.

• Creating a database on land resources.

 • Using Remote Sensing techniques and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) in the production of various Soil maps.
