Soil Survey and Classification Research Department

Current activities of the department:

• Completing the survey and classification of the lands of the Toshka project and its evaluation for agricultural use using remote sensing techniques and geographic information systems (GIS).

• Participation with the various departments of the Institute in field and laboratory studies to produce fertility maps of agricultural lands in the lands of the governorates of the Delta.

• Doing research papers, thesis and scientific books on survey and classification of lands and waters using remote sensing techniques and geographic information systems (GIS).
