Soil Survey and Classification Research Department

The department's rare devices:

Ground-Penetration Radar (GPR), which is used to know the depth and texture of the different layers of soil, to determine the level of ground water in the soil, as well as to know the abnormal bodies inside the soil.

• Profiler, which is used in the relative estimation of soil salinity.

• Spectral Radiometer (the measurement of spectral reflections of soil and water), which is used to know the components of surface soil and water.
