The future activities of the department:

• Surveying and evaluation of valley and delta lands in order to follow changes in the degree of suitability of the old lands for cultivation.

• Surveying and evaluation of the Egyptian desert lands for agricultural use in order to add new land and water resources using remote sensing techniques and geographic information systems

• Follow-up of the environmental changes of the Egyptian lands and lakes (such as coastal erosion - urban sprawl - encroachment of sand dunes - soil erosion) using modern techniques
